Cain Greenhouse is owned and operated by Holli Radtke and was built completely by herself and her wonderful husband, Erik.

The project of opening Cain Greenhouse started slowly. When we purchased our home, along with it came a collapsed greenhouse. After emptying out the greenhouse and moving it, we ended up building a larger one. Once all the gardens were cleaned up, we started growing our own plants and shared the surplus with friends and family. From there, a dream of owning a greenhouse business grew and bloomed (nerdy pun intended).

Cain Greenhouse is named after our handsome Black Labrador, Cain- who is named after the Little Cain Creek on our land

Cain Greenhouse is built on an old field that was slowly being taken over by Sumac trees and other brush vegetation. Construction for the business started in 2021 and was mostly done in cold, rainy, and foggy weather. After a lot of hard work, Cain Greenhouse opened in 2022 with one small hoop house packed full of herb and vegetable starts, flower baskets, climbing flower pots, and annual flowers. It was a little tight with just one greenhouse, but we quickly expanded our business. In 2023, we widened the parking lot, built a second greenhouse, and started selling produce out of our "produce hut".

We have saved and stored portions of our own seed since we began gardening, so all of our herb and vegetable starts and produce grown are from healthy plants. Our long-term goal is to save and store all of the seed used for planting both at our home and at Cain Greenhouse.

We plan to continue expanding and providing people with healthy and locally grown vegetable, fruit, and herb starter plants; and flowers. We look forward to sharing this special adventure with you.
